Double wings infusion set-also known as "butterfly" or "scalp vein" set-is a device specialized for venipuncture: i.e. for accessing a superficial vein for either intravenous injection or phlebotomy. It consists, from front to rear, of a hypodermic needle, two bilateral flexible "wings", flexible small-bore transparent tubing (often 20-35 cm long), and lastly a connector (often female Luer). This connector attaches to another device: e.g. syringe, vacuum tube holder/hub, or extension tubing from an infusion pump or gravity-fed infusion / transfusion bag/bottle.

Newer models include a slide and lock safety device slid over the needle after use, which helps prevent accidental needlestick injury and reuse of used needles, which can transmit infectious disease such as HIV and viral hepatitis.

Matters needing attention

The use of the Disposable venous indwelling needle must meet the requirements of relevant operating specifications and relevant laws and regulations of the medical department, and is limited to trained doctors or nursing staff. 2. Check the minimum package before use, and do not use it if it is damaged. 3. Once the needle is completely or partially extracted, it cannot be used again. 4. The puncture point shall be inspected regularly. If there are signs of local or body infection, it shall be stopped immediately. 5. Once the product is used, the needle tube and catheter should be destroyed immediately and put into a special waste box. 6. This product is a disposable product, and secondary use is strictly prohibited. 7. Under the storage conditions, the service life of the product is three years. Storage method this product should be stored in a cool, dry, clean, well ventilated environment without corrosive gas. Avoid direct sunlight
